關于英語六級高頻詞匯的復習筆記

　　1. pertinent a. 有關的=relevant

　　He raised several pertinent questions.

　　他提了幾個有關的問題。

　　The lawyer wanted to know all the details pertinent to the case.

　　律師想知道與該案有關的全部細節(jié)。

　　2. plead v. 懇求;申訴

　　With that kind of man you will plead in vain.

　　你懇求那種人將是白費力氣。

　　I heard him plead in court only once.

　　我只有一次聽到他在法庭上作辯護。

　　3. ponder v. 思考

　　She pondered his marriage proposal for a week.

　　她考慮了一周他向她的求婚。

　　They are pondering moving their offices outside London.

　　他們正在考慮把辦事處搬出倫敦。

　　4. portray v. 描繪=describe/depict

　　It is not easy to portray the surprise of the Indian at this discovery.

　　印第安人見到這種情況，其驚異之情真是難以形容。

　　5. precede v. 先于

　　The we should always precede the I.

　　集體總應先于個人。

　　6.precedent n. 先例

　　This decision creates a dangerous precedent.
